Kinisiforo is a new medical device for use in movement therapy and rehabilitation of neurological conditions. The original device was created and developed by a kinesiology and rehabilitation specialist based in Cyprus to help his local neurological patients. The results were very encouraging and it was decided to obtain a worldwide patent for the device and to make it available globally. It was successfully used for rehabilitation of patients with stroke, cerebral palsy and brain/spinal injuries. It helps in reducing neurological deficit and movement disorders and ultimately can improve the quality of life of even severely disabled patients. The theoretical ground for such an effect is based on neuroplasticity, a phenomenon of stimulation of innate brain capacity to change and adapt in response to environmental influences.
